Minifigure: #6 of 20 – Swimsuit Batman
Released: January 1, 2018
If you have a tough time finding this figure out of a box of blind bags, we can’t help you. The medium blue dolphin takes up so much space, and is so unique to this and any other series, you should be able to see what you’re getting by looking at the squat and distorted packaging. However, if some resale genius has picked them all off of the shelf before you could get there, the dolphin and the red lifeguard float are not exclusive to this figure. You can also find the dolphin in that box of of minifigures from this past summer, Fun at the Beach (60153). You can also find the float in that same set, as well as two previous lifeguard collectible minifigures (col12-7 & col02-8), and Emma’s Lifeguard Post (41028) from the Friends line. There’s also two in Borkum Riffgrund 1 (4002015) from 2015 if you’re lucky enough to find that rare set.
Oddly enough, after getting so many of the same Batman figure in so many previous sets, it’s this one that is head-to-toe exclusive. For starters, the cowl is a new mold for the Batcowl headpiece. It comes with the goggles molded right onto the head in a nice light blue. The cowl is also molded in a softer rubbery material. Under that, there’s an exclusive Batman printing on the light flesh minifigure head. While the cowl doesn’t have the openings for Batman’s eyes, the headband is still on the minifigure head if you want to swap it out for a different figure. There is no secondary face on the back.
The light flesh torso and legs are also exclusive with the muscles printing on the torso (without the aforementioned ninth abdominal muscle from the movie). The hips assembly comes in black, with printing continuing onto the legs to create Batman’s bikini, with crisp gold lines on the seam and a Batsymbol on the hip, also printed in gold. The figure stands proudly upon the same baseplate, exclusive to this particular series.
He’s a happy little Batman. He would be fun to include in swimming MOCs, although his accessories aren’t all that impressive. Just about anyone can do better, we have no doubt. We’ve been working on projects of our own, but now we’re going to push through the rest of these guys until the end, so we can bring you different things. We’ll be looking at the Old Fishing Store and Downtown Diner, and then tell you all about what we’ve been working on that’s kept our attention. Fun things are coming. Check back often. And make sure to Like us on Facebook so you can get updates!
