“Exclusive!” is the name of the game with Black Vulcan, a character that was a part of the now infamous Justice League dance party scene, in The LEGO Batman Movie. Everything in this pack is exclusive to this collectible minifigure, short of the baseplate in black with the img_1974yellow batsymbol print. So, from top-down, let’s take a look, shall we?

While we’ve gotten the headgear element before with previous releases of The Flash, this is the first time we’ve gotten it in black with the yellow print down the middle. The piece is made of a rubbery material that makes it slightly squeezable and a little difficult at times to apply. This would be good to use in an Evil Flash or a retro space MOC. Couple that with the cool little lightning bolt elements in trans-yellow, and there are all kinds of MOC possibilities. We’ve also seen these elements before in various Nexo Knights sets, but this is the first time they have come in this color.

The reddish brown minifigure head is exclusive with the with the dark brown cheek lines. It’s also the first time that the Domino black mask is printed on this rendtion of the minifigure head. There is no secondary face print, which is fine. The helmet element doesn’t come all of the way down the back of the head, so if there was one, that alternate face wouldn’t be covered.

The black torso is great. The print on the front is nice and clean, with that lightning bolt yellow “V” print, img_1975and what appears to be the light bluish gray muscle lines. And the same goes for the back of the torso, with different lines for the back muscles. And who would have thought you’d get a LEGO minifigure with yellow hands (teary faced laughing emoji)?! The hands represent the characters yellow gloves, obviously, however they are a very nice contrast to the black arms and torso.

Let’s take a look at the bottom part of this figure. It’s a lot. First, there’s the black hip element, holding the legs. The legs are dual molded in reddish brown and yellow. Black is printed on the reddish brown to complete the look of the shorts. And again, there are black lines printed on the yellow to add trim for the boots.

That’s a lot of attention to be paid to such a minor character, both in The LEGO Batman Movie and in DC history. We’re glad he’s included, though. That’s a lot of new stuff in such a small set. Stick around, we’ve got a few more to go!
