Minifigure: #19 of 20 – Black Canary
Released: January 1, 2018
Finally! A lot of places would leave the best for last. We’re not because it’s all subjective and random and fun! Right? Right. So, let’s look at Black Canary, shall we?
This isn’t the first time we’ve gotten the female mid-length hairpiece with the part over the right shoulder. It’s also not the first time we’ve gotten it in bright light yellow. However, the contrast between the hairpiece and the rest of the figure is fantastic. It’s a great part in a great color, and the more we get it, the less expensive it gets to be; it’s a win-win for everyone except sellers on the secondary market.
The minifigure head is amazing. The primary face print is fine. The light flesh minifigure head with the reddish brown eyebrows and the bright pink lips looks nice. Take a moment, and admire the secondary print. Look at it! That screaming face is perfect. Yes, it’s cartoony, but it’s perfect. Just amazing. We’re way beyond excited to get a second of these face prints to use in Downtown Diner (10260) or a band performance MOC.
The medium blue torso suffers from printing that’s too good and too small. As per usual, when you get these types of full bodied prints on a different torso, there’s a gap at the top and the bottom. So, at the neck line, you get a little bit of the light flesh showing through above the shirt and jacket, and above that is the medium blue of the torso piece. And then at the bottom, there’s the medium blue of the torso instead of the dark blue continuing on.
The dark blue hips and legs have a phenomenal medium blue print with fishnet stockings that continue around the sides of the legs. The lines are well defined and follow the natural curve of the legs perfectly.
Black Canary comes with a great little build as an accessory. The three stud long black bar, the black bar holder with a clip on the end, and the black inverted 2×2 dish make a fun little microphone stand. That stand gets topped off with another microphone with the metallic silver screen pattern, that we’ve gotten a few other times since the Pop Star (col02-11) Series Two Collectible Minifigure. The stand doesn’t sit on on the black baseplate with the yellow batsymbol printing, but she can either hold it, or you can use some modificated element to make sure the stand doesn’t go anywhere.
Check back tomorrow, as The Big Kid’s Table serves two more helpings of The LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures. We’re almost done!
